Willows JV softball team wins SVL

The Willows High School junior varsity softball team completed its season last week, finishing undefeated in league play to capture the Sacramento Valley League title.

The Honkers defeated Rio Vista 15-2 and followed that win with a 7-2 victory over Durham. Brianna Brothers had 11 strikeouts in the Durham victory while Ashley Love was 2-for-3 with a double and a triple.

In a doubleheader win over Colusa, 17-0 and 16-6, Brothers struck out nine and was 4-for-5 at the plate in game one. Love was 3-for-4 wit ha double while Lindsey
Van Tol was 2-for-2 with a home run. Tiffanie Hofhenke helped out with a 4-for-4 effort.

In the second game, Daisy Lopez got the win and was 2-for-4 with a triple. Van Tol hit another home run and Kayla Lutz was 2-for-4 with a triple.

The Honkers concluded the season with a 5-4 win over Live Oak. Brothers struck out five in getting the win while going 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run and two doubles. Love added three hits and three RBI.
