Willows scored three times in the third. Clark Love had an RBI single and Kyle Enos rapped an RBI double to make the score 4-3.

Ryan Welsh scored for Willows in the fourth when he singled and scored on Alex Alves’ groundball. Pierce Baker singled and scored for Willows’ final run in the fifth.

Willows bounced back to beat Red Bluff of District 1 11-5 on Monday.

Willows got off to a strong early start, scoring four times in the first inning and then adding five runs over the final three frames.

Enos, Welsh, Casey Taylor and Kyle Wycoff all had RBI singles in the first inning. Drake Matteson added an RBI groundout in the second inning to make the score 5-1. Enos also had an RBI in the fifth inning while Joe Perry had an RBI in the sixth and Matteson and Casey Taylor each drove in a run in the seventh.

Love got the win with Wycoff pitching a third of an inning of relief.

Willows fell to Susanville of District 48 on Tuesday, falling 17-6 in five innings. Willows scored three times in the first inning on singles by Love and Welsh, a double by Taylor Collins and a single by Matteson.

However Susanville scored six times in the second inning and four more in the third to take an 11-3 lead.

Willows countered with two runs in the fourth on RBI singles by Alex Chavez and Love. Collins also singled and scored in the fifth, but it wasn’t enough to avoid elimination.
