Willows 4, Sutter 0

The Willows High boy's soccer team traveled to Sutter on Tuesday in the Honkers' first outing of the season, coming home with a victory over the Huskies.

David Gonzalez scored in the 20th minute, while Salvador Gonzalez netted two during the remainder of the first half. Giovanni Gutierrez scored the final goal for Willows in the second half. Goal-keeper Jose Barajas made 11 saves.

Willows 3, Oroville 1

The Honkers beat Oroville on the road Wednesday, besting the home team 3-1.

Salvador Gonzalez scored three goals for Willows in the first half. Gonzalez leads the Honkers with five goals on the season. Fernando Luna had two assists, while Alexis Montoya had one. Keeper Jose Barajas made eight saves.

Willows 3, Durham 1

Willows found victory on Thursday, beating the Trojans in Durham.

Fernando Luna scored the first goal of the game, while David Gonzalez added his own a few minutes later. Salvador Gonzalez found the net for the Honkers in the 70th minute to bring the score to 3-1 and give Willows the win. Salvador Gonzalez had six shots on goal, while keeper Jose Barajas had nine saves.

Girls Soccer

Sutter 7, Willows 0

The Willows High girls soccer team was blanked in Sutter Tuesday, with coach Bud Ramirez saying, "They're a little out of our league."

Willows 1, Oroville 1

The Willows girl's soccer team got a 1-1 tie against Oroville on the road Wednesday.

Erica Chavez scored for the Honkers in the final minute of the game, after the hosts had taken a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick.

Willows 1, Durham 0

Erica Chavez's goal was the difference in a one-goal win in Durham Thursday.
