Local All-Star teams swing into play

The best of the best take to the baseball and softball fields beginning today, as Little League All-Star play begins for teams in District 47.

The Willows and Orland leagues are both hosting All-Star tournaments, with Willows being the site of the 9-10 boys baseball and 15-16 girls softball tournies, while the 13-14 boys Pool B tournament takes place in Orland.

11-12: Orland v. Willows, today, 2 p.m., Chico Central
13-14: Orland v. either Chico Eastside or Chico Westside, Monday, 6:30 p.m., Orland.

Girls first-round games

11-12: Orland v. Willows, today, 2 p.m., Lake Oroville
13-14: Orland v. either Paradise South or Durham, July 7, 5:30 p.m., Chico Eastside
