Lady Honkers prune Live Oak
Willows High's varsity girls basketball team thwarted the efforts of hosting team Live Oak, coming home with a 55-44 win in Sacramento Valley League action.
Ally Brunner put in an amazing scoring effort, racking up 21 points, with Megan Hughes following with 13 and Colleen Tade racking up 12.
Brunner tacked on 11 rebounds, with eight of those being on the offensive end, while teammate Christina Villarruel totaled six.
Hughes made the most of her night on the defensive end, stealing the ball seven times throughout the contest.
Tade passed for three assists, while Hughes had two during the Honkers' win.
Willows (12-8, 5-2 SVL) paid a Tuesday visit to Colusa, and returns home Friday to host Durham.
