Honkers hobbled by Durham at home

The Durham High football team came to town with just one loss on the season Friday, and after 402 yards of total offense, left Willows the same way after handing the host Honkers a 36-0 defeat.

The Trojans' Chris Craven carried the ball 19 times for 169 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while quarterback Toby Auer was on the mark for 8-of-10 passes, throwing for 163 yards and a score. His TD toss went to Mark Grzanich, who showed excellent hands on defense as well, intercepting three passes and returning one for a pick six.

Willows' passing game was further hampered by frequent Trojan visits to the backfield, as Durham recorded seven sacks.

The Honkers fell to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the Sacramento Valley League with the loss.

Willows statistics were unavailable before press time.

The Honkers tackle U-Prep (2-3, 0-2) in Redding Friday.
