After an opening-round 50-36 loss to Marysville on Thursday, the Willows High girls basketball team rebounded to post wins over Corning (50-40) and Live Oak (43-28) to finish 1-2 on the weekend.

Versus Marysville, Megan Hughes pumped in 11 points to lead the lady Honkers, with Ally Brunner chipping in with eight and Allyssa Beatty and Courtney Dicharry both hitting for four.

Brunner also provided the team highs with eight rebounds and five steals.

Bayshta Aguilla nailed 15 points for Marysville, followed by Haley Adams' 12.

Dicharry had the hot hand versus the Cardinals, hitting 13 points, while Brunner and Megan Hughes backed her effort with a dozen each.

Another Brunner dozen helped the Honkers to their victory over Live Oak. Two of her shots came from long range, with Beatty also dialing up long distance for one, and Megan Hughes providing 10 points.
