News Now: Willows man faces abuse charges

A Willows man remains in custody today on $25,000 bail, charged with inflicting corporal injury on his ex-girlfriend.

William Billy Macek, 40, was arrested Monday night, following an argument that allegedly resulted in Macek striking his ex-girlfriend in the face with a handheld spotlight.

Deputies on Monday were dispatched to a possible domestic violence on the 6000 block of State Highway 162 in Willows.

Deputies arrived to find the 36-year-old female victim bleeding severely from a deep laceration across her nose, according to the Sheriff’s office. Officials cannot release the name of a victim of domestic violence without their consent, according to Sheriff Larry Jones.

The victim told authorities she and Macek started arguing after Macek had supposedly fallen asleep while watching their daughter. The victim claimed she was taking a shower and, when she was done, found Macek asleep and their young daughter was not there. The child was found unharmed a short time later.

The victim claimed she and Macek searched for the child with a flashlight and the handheld spotlight. After the child was located, the argument escalated and the victim alleges Macek struck her in the face with the spotlight. Investigators found the broken light on the floorboard of Macek’s vehicle.

Macek was subsequently booked into jail and served with a Glenn County Superior Court emergency protective order.

The case will be reviewed by the district attorney’s office.

Fleeced I think youre right. Its a conspiracy! That woman with blood gushing from her nose is probably a prison guard doing her part to keep the white man down. Clearly, the guy that smashed a woman in the face with a spotlight is clearly the victim. Heres this poor guy a productive member of society and all he wants to do is beat a woman up every now and again isn't that the American Dream? But these highly paid pampered cops, deputies, and prison guards come along and say Actually if you beat up woman you're a criminal. THE NERVE! Thank you Fleeced for defending the rights of woman beaters for us all! God Bless America.

Oh, another real bad hombre. Prosecute him to the wall DA. Throw him in jail for many years judge. Now taxpayers don't worry about the cost. It is only over 40k/year plus benefits to feed and house prisoners. It is great biz for the prison guard's unions, and all of those employed in the law enforcement biz too, and all the so-called nonprofits. A new phrase. Give us money, or give us more money. They can get mucho bucks out of this. Billy boy, he will have a record, never be able to own a fire arm, not be a productive citizen to society, get an education in the prison system, likely will have to join a gang. All this because he and his girlfriend got into a spat. From the DA to the big house, thank you Billy. The moral of this story like all the others. It is the citizens, the taxpayers that are really being punished. It is our form of government and our liberties that is being incarcerated.

I hope this guy is prosecuted - the District Attorney's Office doesn't seem to want to prosecute domestic violence offenders. This type of behavior can't be condoned.
