Willows man suspected of hit and run

A Willows man was arrested on suspicion of hit and run while driving under the influence of alcohol after reportedly fleeing the scene of an accident in Willows on Saturday night.

Willows Police officers arrested Zachary Davis, 25, at his North Yolo Street home shortly after the 10 p.m. collision at the intersection of Sycamore and Tehama streets, the Willows police reported.

Sgt. Carl Walter said the investigation determined Davis, who was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer westbound on Sycamore Street, apparently ran a red light and struck a 2012 Nissan Rogue driven by Ruby Koon, 63.

Koon and her passengers, Rodney Pozzi, 38, an off-duty California Highway Patrol officer, Jennifer Pozzi, 39, and Amanda Pozzi, 4, were taken to Glenn Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Koon was later airlifted to Enloe Medical Center in Chico, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said Monday.

Davis who left the Blazer and fled the scene of the collision was found at his home, where he was arrested on suspicion of hit and run causing injury and suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury.

He was booked into the Glenn County Jail. Bail was set at $50,000.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call Walter at 934-3456.
