Stonyford Rodeo set for May
The 65th Annual Stonyford Rodeo will be held in Stonyford on Saturday and Sunday, May 3 & 4, 2008. A delightful small-town parade will open Saturday’s festivities at 10 a.m. The rodeo on both days will begin at 1 p.m.
Queen - Shelena Lee, 17, is from Cobb Mountain in Lake County. Shelena is in the 11th grade at Pathways Charter School. She plans to attend Santa Rosa Junior College and wants to be a horse trainer.
Rodeo Princess - Adrian Daniel is 19 and from Orland. She in employed at Corral West Ranch Wear in Chico and plans to attend college to obtain a degree in Animal Science.
Rodeo Princess - Clair Crites, 18, from Elk Creek is a senior at Elk Creek High School. She plans to attend Butte College and then transfer to Chico State for her degree in Ag Business. Clair is sponsored by Diamond W Western Wear in Chico.
First Runner Up - Nicky Phillips, 15, is from Upper Lake and is in the 9th grade at Upper Lake High School. She is active in High School Rodeos, competes on her school wrestling team and is starting to compete in endurance racing. Nicky’s goal is to attend U.C. Davis and become a veterinarian.
Miss Congeniality - Jennifer Sloop is 18 and lives in Durham. She is employed at Corral West Ranch We ar in Chico. Jennifer plans to attend college this fall and obtain her Masters Degree in the nursing field.
