Glenn man hurt in accident

A Glenn resident received minor injuries in car crash involving four vehicles Friday in Yuba City.

Travis Mascadri, 28, was driving southbound on Highway 99, just north of Cutting Avenue, when a collision occurred in front of him, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP said Juana Castenada, 64, of Gridley, slowed for a dog on the highway and was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Adam Dixon of Yuba City.

Mascadri was traveling approximately 55 mph when he reportedly drove off the right shoulder behind Dixon in an attempt to avoid the collision.

Mascadri’s Ford F 650 then re-entered the roadway and “T-boned” the driver’s side of Castenada’s vehicle, the CHP said.

The impact pushed Castenada’s Toyota into the northbound lane, where she was struck by a vehicle driven by Timothy McIsaac, 70, of Davis, the CHP said.

McIsaac and a 14-year juvenile were uninjured, but Bia McIsaac, 77, was transported to Rideout Memorial Hospital with rib injuries.

Castenada received major injuries and was also transported to Rideout.

Dixon and Mascadri had complaints of pain, but were not transported for treatment.

Highway 99 was closed for about an hour, the CHP said.
