Thompson to officiate Glenn County Fair derby

Glenn County Fair CEO Jake Walgenbach is pleased to announce that the Destruction Derby on Sunday, May 18th will be officiated by Derby specialist Tommy Thompson. Tommy has officiated  previous Derbies in Orland and looks forward to another successful event.

Pre-entries are double the number as are usually received in the Fair office, indicating a large turn-out of competitors for the popular event.

The Derby will again feature an 8-cylinder field as well as 4-cylinder cars. The full size derby main event winner will receive $1,000.00 while the 4-cylinder main event winner will be awarded $500.00.

The car voted Best Appearing, selected by popular vote from the fans, will receive $50.00 and a Trophy.

Pre-Entry deadline fee is $40.00 which is due in the Fair office by May 5. After that deadline date, entry fee will increase to $50.00.

Additional information about activities during this year’s Fair, which runs May 14 through 18 in Orland, may be obtained at www.glenncountyfair.org.
