Update: Rancheria man stabbed

A Glenn County man is recuperating in a Chico hospital after suffering multiple stab wounds early Monday morning.

Anthony Paul Razo, 45, of the Grindstone Rancheria north of Elk Creek, was taken by helicopter to Enloe Medical Center for surgery. He was listed in fair condition Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators are looking for a Hispanic male in his early 20s who was wearing a white tank top and black shorts on Monday. No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.

Glenn County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a 911 call on Phil’s Way at the Grindstone Rancheria around 3 a.m., Monday.

Bonnie Mitchell, Razo’s girlfriend, told detectives she had last seen the victim Sunday morning. She said they had both been drinking during the day and when Razo arrived home, she noticed his injuries.

Mitchell provided some first aide and summoned a nephew, Kyle Bill, who is a volunteer fireman. Bill called 911 after examining Razo’s wounds.

Detective Greg Felton, of the Glenn County Sheriff’s office, said Razo exited the men’s room at Stony Gorge Reservoir and was stabbed twice in the stomach by the unknown male.

Investigators have yet to established a motive for the crime.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Greg Felton at 934-6720 or the Sheriff’s Secret Witness line at 934-6627.
