News Now: Woman charged with assault with a frying pan

A Willows woman remains in custody today charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Cyrstin James, 25, of Willows was booked into Glenn County Jail Sunday following an altercation with her boyfriend 39-year-old Oscar Chavez.

According to Willows Police, the argument escalated and eventually concluded when James allegedly struck Chavez in the head with a frying pan.

Chavez reportedly received about a 5 inch cut to the back of his head. He was taken by ambulance to Glenn Medical Center where he was treated and released. Chavez reportedly received 6 staples to close the injury.

In addition to assault, James is also charged with violating her probation. Her bail is set for $100,000.
