Christmas trees

The Hamilton FFA is selling Christmas trees and wreaths from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily at the school farm. Nobles, Douglass and Frasier Firs fresh cut and in water.

Band-choir fundraiser

A pizza and bake sale fundraiser will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. today, at Round Table Pizza, in Willows. Twenty percent of food orders will go toward Willows Music Boosters for support of the band at Willows Intermediate School and the band and choir at Willows High School. Fundraiser benefits Nutrition Center

Sani Food Market is sponsoring a hot dog fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday to benefit the Glenn County Senior Nutrition Center. Proceeds will go to the Willows Nutrition Site’s home meal delivery program. Price is $1 or donation. For information, call 680-1825.

Christmas concerts

The 40 voices of The Glenn Chorale will join in song for two concert performances to usher in the holiday season. The Chorale will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, at the Willows High School Cafetorium and 3 p.m. on Sunday, at Orland Memorial Hall.

Refreshments will be served at both performances. Tickets are now on sale for $6 for adults. Children under 12 are free. Tickets may be purchased from any Glenn Chorale member or by calling 865-7261.

KC breakfast

The Orland Knights of Columbus will serve breakfast from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 7, at St. Dominic’s Parish Hall. Breakfast includes pancakes, ham, eggs, milk, coffee and juice. Donation $4. Fore more information, call 865-5851.

Blood drive

BloodSource will host a blood drive from 2 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 11, at McGoldrick Hall, St. Monica’s Catholic Church, 1129 West Wood St. Willows. Donate blood and receive a gift. Drink plenty of Fluids. ID required. For more information about donating blood, call 1-866-82BLOOD.

Schmidt House open

The Orland Historical and Cultural Society will decorate the Alta Schmidt House Museum for the Centennial kick off on Dec. 13. There will special Christmas displays and people in costume. A Lionel train display with Christmas tree and cookies and punch will be served in the Ingranook behind the museum. The museum also will be open from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Dec. 14-16. Lions Art Show

The Willows Lions Club is holding its annual Art Show and raffle from 1 to 5 p.m. on Dec. 14, at artist Vic Kronberg’s studio at 6244 County Road 53 (just follow the signs heading west from Wal-Mart). The public is invited. Buffet is free. The winner of the raffle and the door prize can choose from any of the over 100 paintings displayed. For more information call 934-4072.

Avenue of Lights

The fifth annual Avenue of Lights Holiday Drive-Through will run 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., Dec. 12-16, at the Glenn County Fairgrounds, Yolo and Woodward St., in Orland. More lights and displays than ever before. Tickets $5 per car. There is still time to sign up for individual, family, organization, business, school or church trees or displays. A Night in Bethlehem

Willows Shoot Hoop

The Willows Elks Lodge #1786 and Saint Monica’s Council #2054 of the Knights of Columbus will sponsor their Hoop Shoot competitions, Dec. 13, at the Willows Intermediate School gym. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and contests start at 9 a.m. All contestants must provide proof of age and parental consent to compete.

Holiday Light Parade

The Willows Chamber of Commerce Holiday Light Parade will be held at 6 p.m. on Dec. 6. Line up at Sycamore and Enright St. Santa will light the community Christmas tree in the Bank of America parking lot after the parade and listen to children’s gift wishes. Curves Food Drive

Curves of Orland is collecting food through November for the Orland Food Pantry’s Christmas baskets. Curves is open 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 3:30p.m. to 7p.m., Monday through Friday, at 720 Fifth St. Canned goods, boxed foods and cereals, and other non-perishable food items such as beans and pasta are needed. Baby items (diapers, formula and baby food), soaps, shampoos, lotions and toilet paper are also welcomed. For more information, call 865-7322.

Elks crab feed

The Willows Elks Lodge will host its annual crab feed, raffle and auction on Jan. 4

The day-long event will run from noon to 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the lodge or from Elks members. Proceeds benefit scholarship winners in Glenn and Colusa counties.

Adopt-A-Family

Families, service clubs, nonprofit groups and local businesses are needed as sponsors for the 18th annual Adopt-A-Family program. The program assists needy Glenn County children and seniors during the holiday season. The Adopt-A-Family event is set for Dec. 12. Sponsored by the Glenn County Human Resource Agency. Christmas fair

Nonprofit organizations are invited to sign up for space at the Willows Christmas Faire on Saturday at Willows Westside Mall. Cost is $5 per space. For more information, call 934-5813, 934-3996 or 934-7043.

Orland Pantry

The Orland Pantry is seeking non-perishable food donations for its Christmas basket program and has placed collection barrels in Orland at Bank of America, Umpqua Bank and Tri-Counties Bank. Orland Pantry serves residents of Orland, Capay and Hamilton City.

Babysitting program

Teens 13 to 17 may take a babysitting training program through Glenn County.

The two-hour training session will allow them to be certified for CPR/first aid.

The Glenn County Resource Referral and Payment Program is offering EMSA certified Health and Safety Courses and AHSI trainings.
