Parents rally for Sober Grad Raffle

Parents from the Orland, Willows, and Hamilton high schools are working with the Corning High School Parents Club - Cards in Action - to sponsor a 2010 Sober Grad Raffle.

The raffle has drawings for trips to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Napa and San Francisco, and for cash prizes of $500, $350 and $200.

Tickets are $20 and the drawing will be held at noon today at The Pizza Factory in Orland.

Make history with largest bunco bash in county

The Ark Christian Center is sponsoring a bunco Bash beginning at 6 p.m. on today at 222 N. Butte St. in Willows. All proceeds will support North Valley Christian Schools' Help-a-Student program which helps enable qualifying families to attend Oak Tree Christian School or Providence Christian High School. Learn how to run for a public office

The Glenn County Republican Assembly in holding a Campaign School from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today at the Holiday Inn Express, 545 N. Humboldt St. in Willows. The cost is $35 per person. Support the students at WIS

The eighth-grade students at Willows Intermediate School will host a Drive Thru Carnitas Dinner from 4:30-7 p.m. on Feb. 10 at St. Monica's Parish Hall in Willows. All proceeds benefit Eighth Grade graduation and activities. Tickets are $10 and are available from any eighth-grade student. Get your quilts ready

The first community/county quilt show will be held on April 16 and 17. The deadline to enter is Feb. 15. Entry forms are available at the Quilt Corral, the Willows Library and at the quilting class in Orland. For more information, call 934-5371.

Bring your sweetheart to lunch, support the Grange

The Jacinto Grange members will be holding a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Valentine's Day. Tickets are $7 at the door.

Join the Willows Car and Bike Show Committee

Plans for the 2010 Willows Car and Bike Show, to be held Aug. 21, are underway. Interested people are invited to attend the next meeting to be held at 5:30 p.m. on Feb.17 at Round Table Pizza in Willows. For further information, contact Kevin Nelson at 934-4699

Check out fun of firefighting

The Fire Management Staff at Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge will hold a number of fun activities related to the field of firefighting, with children as the main focus. These programs will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Feb. 20 and April 17. It is appropriate for Boy and Girl Scout groups and students in grades 3-6. To sign up, call 934-2801.
