Letter: Rec chief give roar to Lionse

I would like to extend my gratitude to the Willows Lion's Club for co-sponsoring the 20th annual girls basketball tournament held on Nov. 19-21 at the Willows Intermediate School.

Eight seventh-grade teams and eight eighth grade teams played 22 games over the three-day event.

The following students and community members volunteered their time to help make our tournament a success by keeping the official clock and scorebook. They included: Chelsea Browing, Cathy Soneouty, Javier Raygoza, Olivia Fleming, Morgan LaSorella, Awaaz Patel, Diana Talamantes, Forrest Johnson, Jade Leonardo, Jesse Nathony, Amber Bruer, Forest Bateman, Vadym Samoylov, Shayla Galbraith, Kristina Chavez and Raina Arnold. Thank you all for your assistance.

I would like to thank the Willows Unified School District and Willows Intermediate School staff for their continued support of the Willows Recreation Department activities. A special thank you to Manni Jones and the W.I.S. Boosters for helping our tournament run smoothly.

Congratulations to all 16 teams for a good show of sportsmanship and teamwork.

Carol Lemenager

Willows Recreation Director
