Support Willows High junior class

The Willows High School junior class is holding a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and Sunday at the high school parking lot and cafeteria. Money raised will go toward junior class prom, float and community events.

Show your support with pizza and sweets

The Willows High School band is having a pizza night and bake sale at the Willows Round Table Pizza from 5-9 p.m. on Tuesda. Round Table will donate 20% of the pizza proceeds to the band. Homemade desserts will be available for sale.

Future quilt show planned

A quilt show is being planned for quilters in the Willows area, sponsored by the Saint Monica's YLI, along with the Willows GAP. A survey is being conducted to find out how many quilters would like to participate in the show. Questionnaires are available at the Quilt Corral on Wood Street, the Willows Library or by calling 934-5371. The survey deadline is Monday.

Support Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Willows Public Library will have a one-day book sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The library is located at 201 N. Lassen St., Willows. All proceeds benefit the Willows Public Library. For more information, call 934-5156.

Willows hosts youth hoop shoot

Willows Elks Lodge No. 1786 and Saint Monica's Council No. 2054 of the Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring their Hoop Shoot competitions on Dec. 12 at the Willows Intermediate School Gym. Warm-ups start at 8:30 a.m. and the contests begin at 9. All contestants must have a birth certificate and parental consent to compete. Order your homemade pecan pies

The Willows Monday Afternoon Club is baking 9-inch pies for $12 each. Pre-order at 934-2145 or 934-9104 by Dec. 16. Pick-up will be on Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at 120 N. Lassen St., Willows.

Christmas Tree permits available

Christmas Tree permits are available through the Mendocino National Forest for the 2009 holiday season. Permits are $10 each and will be sold through Dec. 18. Permits are good through Dec. 24. For more information, contact Tamara Schmidt at 934-3316.

Come hear some heavenly music

The Glenn Chorale will present its Christmas concert, "Gloria In Excelsis Deo," at 7:30 p.m on Dec. 5 at Willows Memorial Hall. Tickets are available from Glenn Chorale members, $6. Children under 12 are free with paying adult.

Ark Christian Center hosts Open House

Ark Christian Center, will host its annual Christmas Open House on Dec. 5, immediately following the lighting of the town Christmas tree after the Light Parade. Located steps from where the tree will be lit, hot dogs, chili, nachos, popcorn, hot chocolate and cider will be provided for free.

Stonyford community holiday festivities

The Stonyford community will hold their annual Christmas Craft Faire from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 5 at the Stonyford Community Hall. Crafts, baked and canned goods, honey items, quilts and more will be available. To rent a table or for more information, call Barbara Leach at 963-3197.
