Josephine White

Josie White, formerly of Orland, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 2, 2008, at Valley Care Medical Center in Pleasanton, CA.

Beloved mother and best friend of Cindy Sarkis and son-in-law Louis Sarkis. Grandmother to her “Little Dolls” Sophia and Sebastian Sarkis, all of Livermore.

She is survived by her loving sisters Gloria Caviglia, of Orland, Edna Graham, of Clovis, and Eva Lambert, of Covelo.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Mary Enos, and brothers Carl Enos, Albert Enos, and Jess Enos.

Josie was born in Hawkinsville, CA. She grew up in Kirkwood and attended school in Corning. She lived in Capay and most of her years in Orland. She was married from 1961 to 1970 to Jim White, father of Cindy.

Josie loved spending time with family and friends. Her two grandchildren (dolls) were a special joy in her life. She worked at Duche Nut Co. for many years. She also worked at Casa Lupe restaurant in Hamilton City as a hostess. She retired and worked at Wal-Mart. She truly loved greeting people with a smile and loved to socialize.

Josie attended Church in Orland and felt very blessed to be on the church prayer chain. She loved the Lord and believed deeply in the power of prayer. Josie made others feel special by her caring and thoughtfulness. She will be missed.

A memorial service in her honor will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 9, at Odd Fellows Cemetery on County Road P, in Orland. Memorial donations can be made to the Orland Senior Center, through F.D. Sweet & Son, 825 A Street, Orland CA 95963.
