Letter: Moral values are not our values
The problems with letting the schools teach our children moral values is they are not our values.
As a young man I can remember youngsters saying “yes mama” or “yes sir.” They were taught to respect their elders and it showed.
Citizens have trusted our leaders to teach right from wrong, which includes moral values. We have been led to believe that education is our greatest value. Advertisements talk about sending your child to college.
The truths of the Ten Commandments have been stepped on and even removed from government buildings. It’s against the law to mention God in our schools. When I went to school that description was used to describe socialism.
Before the liberals invaded us, every person was responsible for whatever action they embarked upon. Our laws were written to punish the guilty and protect the victims.
Today, you can order a hot cup of coffee and if you spill it into your lap you can sue the company that brewed the coffee. Does that sound like justice to you? I am telling you, if you don’t start taking what is going on in our country personal and get involved, this country is going to pass away and we will be living under a socialist government. A great philosopher once said, “A democracy is doomed when the population discovers they can vote themselves benefits.” Think about it.
