Sheriff's logs listings are compiled from reports filed with area law enforcement and public safety agencies...

Craig Souza reported his wife, Linda Souza, not breathing.  Enloe Ambulance and Willows Fire responded to the residence.  Enloe Ambulance requested a deputy for a coroner`s investigation shortly after arrival.  Deputy Brazzi responded.  Sweets ortuary service was contacted and removed the decedent from the residence.  Next of kin was on scene and notified.

Susan Rawlins, reports hearing an audible alarm in the vicinity of the Butte City Four Corners area. Area was checked - no alarm was found sounding in the area.

Elisa Delacruz 26, called  requesting to speak to a deputy regarding a child custody matter. Deputy Burns telephoned Delacruz who stated that her ex`s mother, Kathy Atilano, came to pickup the child and was ten minutes late.

GCSO dispatch advised of a 911 hang up at the Orland mobile home park. Deputy Burns responded to the location. Contact was made with resident, Juan Morales, who advised his toddler had been playing with the telephone. No one at the residence was in need of assistance. No further action requested.

"Michelle" called to report her sister, Shona Hurlburt, 41,  and Shona`s 17-yr old daughter are verbally fighting at this time. She tried calming them down on the phone.  Sheriff Jones and sgt. Miranda responded.  Settled by separation at this time.  No further action requested by either party.

Rp called to report a male was drowning in the Stony Gorge lake. On arrival deputy contacted the victim's father, Brian Cantrell. He advised the victim was his 15-year-old son. The father advised the 15-year-old swam out to retrieve a ball. While he was swimming back, he got tired and stopped swimming. Apparently someone thought he was drowning, and called 911. The victim was fine and  was able to swim back to shore on his own.

Julie Myers, 59, reported that her son pushed her up against the wall at their residence. Deputy Burns responded to the residence. Upon arrival the front door was open and Myers was not on scene. Deputy Burns observed Myers`s son, Ty Gentry 36, inside the residence. Deputy Burns contacted Gentry who was under the influence of alcohol. Gentry was arrested for violation of probation due to no alcohol stipulations. Myers arrived on scene and placed Gentry under private persons arrest.

An anonymous person reported that a group of juveniles were smimming in the irrigation canal at county road FF and county road 3. Dep McDonald contacted several teenage juveniles at that location. All of the juveniles were advised not to swim there anymore and agreed to leave.

Dep McDonald was detailed to check the area of highway 99W and county road 20 for a tan cow in the roadway. Dep McDonald checked the area and was unable to locate the animal.
