CHP requested an assist in checking the area for a pedestrian walking southbound along the freeway. Stephen Hill, a transient, was located walking on the shoulder near county road 25. Hill was walking to Sacramento. Hill was advised to cross over the county road 25 overpass to county road 99 and walk south on county road 99 rather than I-5. Hill complied.
Rerporting party is being harassed by family members. Deputy Bailey made contact with Gail Van Scyoc. She said there have been problems in the past over the family trust (estate). She said her brother has moved into one of the houses so he can take care of things around the estate. She said he took her riding lawn mower. She said he told her he had fixed it. Gail wanted this on record in case he does not return the mower.
911 Hang up. Attempt to contact the caller numerous times. They continually hung up. Deputy Bailey made contact with Susana Lopez. She said her bother was playing with the phone and hit the wrong number. No further action this department.
The California Highway Patrol requested assistance in checking the area for a possible DUI driver, northbound I-5 n. Of hwy 162. Deputy Burns was in the area of I-5 and county road 33. Dispatch advised the vehicle was a white 4 door car with Washington plate 090-UVG. Deputy Burns located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver failed to yield until north Of Orland. The driver, Danelle Beamish, 41, was turned over to CHP for further investigation. CHP officer Ryan arrested Beamish for DUI.
GCSO dispatch received a 911 call with a female stating, “send a cop to 2075 highway 45.” Then the line went dead. It was picked up again and a verbal argument could be heard in the background. Deputy Burns and sgt. Miranda responded to the residence. Contact was made with Janell Nilsen, 35, and three other juveniles on scene. After further investigation, Nilsen was arrested for child endangerment and tampering/damaging a emergency phone line. Nilsen was transported to the Glenn County jail.
Hispanic male approached Melanie Lane 24 years old at the Valero station in Hamilton City and demanded her money. Deputy Bailey made contact with Lane at a residence in Orland. She told deputy Bailey that while she was filling up with gas a man rode up on a bicycle and asked her for her money. She said that it was kind of wierd and she pointed the gas nozzle at the subject and he rode a way. Lane wanted to report this for information only in case this is a common occurance or it happens again.
Vapor Yang, 31, reported he was fishing at the Sacramento River and found a 9 mm hand gun. He will meet a deputy at state route 45 and county road 44 and turn it over. Deputy Burns responded to the location. Yang turned over the handgun that had moderate rust damage. The serial number was checked and the firearm was not found to be stolen. The firearm was taken to the Glenn County sheriff`s office and booked as found property. Further investigation pending.
Carlos Chavera, 55, called 911 and requested an abulance for his brother, age 42, for an unknown medical problem. Carlos stated his brother was agitated. Deputy Owens responded and spoke with the subject. He complained of pain and was requesting medical attention. Westside Ambulance arrived and transported the subject to Enloe Hospital at his request.
Gracy Gonzalez, 36, reports a group of six male subjects are drinking alcohol and driving back and forth from the liquor store in a pick up truck. Gonzalez did not want contact. Deputy Owens responded and spoke with the subjects.
Glenn County jail requested a deputy to assist with placing Carol Hall into the safety cell. Hall was cooperative and the task was completed without incident.
