William Deitz
William J. Deitz, 72, passed away May 8, 2008, in Chico. Williams lived his entire life in Orland. He was born August 5, 1935 in Orland to John and Edrie Deitz.
Williams graduated from Orland High School in 1953 and attended Shasta College. He married his wife of over 50 years, Jacqueline Howard, on Nov. 16, 1957. Williams was a farmer most of his life. He was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Orland.
William loved backpacking and camping, but he especially loved his children and watching boys play sports.
William is survived by his wife, Jacquie; sons Wayne (Corrine), Wade (Shirley), Eric (Shannon) and Todd (Lori). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of Orland.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 14, at 2 p.m., at the Gazebo Oddfellows Cemetery, Orland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Glenn County Jr. Livestock Auction, P.O. Box 697, Orland, CA 95963. Arrangements are under the direction of F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary, Orland.
