Honkers hit mats at Doc Petersen

The Willows High wrestling team, small in numbers and short on experience, got plenty of the latter on Saturday, as four Honkers battled in the 38th annual Doc Petersen Classic hosted by Orland High.

Joaquin Carrasco wrestled in the 126-pound class for the Honkers, and was joined by teammates Felipe Garcia (132), Greg Dicharry (138) and Nick Reed (170) in the purple, gold and white singlets.

While none of the Willows wrestlers made it to the medal round, they gained a healthy dose of wrestling experience as they prepare for a very competitive season schedule.
