Lori Pride, real estate broker at Miller and Pride Realty, says that her dream job would be to volunteer.

Lori Pride

• Name: Lori Pride

• Age: 47

• Family: Husband, Don; sons Logan and Daniel; and soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Tori.

• City of residence: Elk Creek

• Occupation: Real estate broker and volunteer everything!

• Favorite part of the job: Definitely the people, not the paperwork.

• What part of your job would you gladly give up? The hours. Lots and lots of hours. People say you get to make your own hours, but that's not really the case.

• What do you like most about Glenn County? The lack of traffic and the small towns. People are neighbors.

• What would you like to change about Glenn County? I wish for a more stable job base for people.

• What's the closest you have been to a famous person? Define famous?

• Tell us about a life changing experience: Getting married.

• If you were granted one wish, what would you wish for? That I survive each day.

• Who do you most admire and why? My mother. She raised the four of us children, stayed sane and lived to tell the tale.

• What are your favorite places to go in the area? At home on the ranch; it's a relaxing retreat.

• What was your first job? Building fences and pouring concrete at Stony Gorge as part of the Youth Conservation Corps.

• If you were a superhero, what would your power be? To fly. I could get from Elk Creek to Willows much quicker.

• What is something you can't live without? Coffee. My only vice. (Waves hand over three coffee cups at her desk).

• What's something about yourself that your friends might not know? What friends?

• Do you have any pet peeves? People who are oblivious to what is going on around them.

• Describe yourself in three words? Driven, motivated, volunteer.

• Pets: Two dogs; Jack and Molly.

• How do you unwind? I Facebook and work outside in the yard, gardening.

• Hobbies/interests: Conservation and ranching, reading, economic development; I look for opportunities to pull things together reasonably.

• Where do you get your news? KFBK Radio and local papers.

• Favorite thing to do on a rainy day: Read a book. Clive Cussler mysteries.

• Dream job: I've always worked so it would probably to not have a job. I would still be busy volunteering, though.

• Fondest memory: Growing up on the ranch with my two sisters and brother. We had an old fort we had to tear down so we pretended we were Indians and burnt down the pioneers' house.

• Favorite book: I don't have a favorite. I read a lot of things for pleasure because my brain is too tired from other stuff.

• Favorite food: How about I tell you what I don't like: Cottage cheese and milk. Not a big fan.

• Favorite music: Christian music. I really like the group Casting Crowns.

• If you were reincarnated as an animal, which would you be and why? A horse - they're pretty.

• What is your guilty pleasure? Sitting in my chair and playing Farmville on Facebook.

• What quality in people do you most admire? Honesty.

• What was your favorite toy as a child? Blaze, a black rocking horse on springs with a white blaze. I was traumatized the day Dad took it to the dump.

• Favorite superhero: I don't really have one; it's not my thing. I'm too practical - get to work. (Laughs)

• Favorite TV show: "Lost"

• Worst TV show: "The Simpsons." Ugh.

• What time period do you wish you could have lived in? I would have loved to have been a pioneer - life was hard but rewarding. I wouldn't have liked the dresses with big skirts, though.

• Worst fear: Failure

• Most embarrassing moment: I once slipped and fell in the rain while wearing high heels in the Financial District in San Francisco. I still remember the look on the woman's face in front of me.

• What would you do for a Klondike Bar? Not much, but for fettucini alfredo I'd leap from the tallest building because I could fly... right?
