Light parade entries accepted
There is still openings for the annual Willows Holiday Light Parade, which begins at 6 p.m. on Dec. 1.
If you would like an entry form, call the Willows Chamber of Commerce at 934-8150 or stop by the office at 118 W. Sycamore St.
Applications are due by Wednesday.
Craft fair starts today
The 37th annual Orland Craft Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, and from 11 a.m. — 4 p.m. Sunday at Glenn County Fairgrounds, 221 E. Yolo St., Orland.
Free admission both days.
Three buildings will be filled with vendors featuring handcrafted items of Christmas treasures, home decor, western flair, metal art, photography, jewelry, children's toys, baked goods, chocolates and more.
Student speaker contest opens
The Willows Lions Club Student Speakers Contest topic this year is "How Do We Create and Keep Jobs in America?"
Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to compete.
The contest will take place Jan. 31, 2013 at the Willows City Council Chambers, 201 N. Lassen St.
The winner of the local club contest will advance for further opportunity to win awards and scholarships.
