Orland Police Report: July 24

0705 hrs Officer Stover and Sgt. Baker responded to Sav Mor Market at 32 East Walker Street. Manager Gary Reese 37 of Orland reported that two shoplifters were detained. On arrival Officers learned both the subjects had fled the store on foot. An investigation has been initiated.


0855 hrs Officer Stover was dispatched to 604 E Walker Street , Glenn County HRA in regards to a suspicious person in the parking lot. The Officer contacted 33 y/o Eduardo Pureco Mondragon of Orland after a records check Pureco was issued written notice his license status had been suspended or revoked. He was asked to leave the property and did so.


0912 hrs Diane Stout 52 of Orland reported a burglary to her business, The Prickly Pear Garden Center at 616 Eighth St. Officer Stover investigated the break in.


1016 hrs Sgt Baker was dispatched to an auto burglary at 1066 Harryman. Thirty one y/o David Darden of Orland reported that an unknown person(s) stole his Dual stereo from his vehicle that was parked in his driveway. The vehicle was locked however the passenger side window was down. An investigation was initiated.


 1204 hrs Sgt. Baker and Officer Stover responded to a residential alarm in the 100 block of Alexander Court. The officers 54 y/o Robert Rispoli JR. of Cameron Park who inadvertently set off the alarm.


 1538 hrs Officer Stover was dispatched to Glenn County HRA to take a report of a possible domestic violence that occurred three days prior. The victim, 30 y/o Orland resident Cecilia Saucedo was interviewed and a report was taken.


 1207 hrs Vallory Behney 51 of Orland reported a vehicle vandalism at 1123 East. St. Officer Stover was responded. The incident occurred at 1011 Newport Avenue. Officer Stover took the report.


1651 hrs Sgt Vlach and Officer Stover were dispatched to a 911 hang up at the pay phone at the USA Gas Station on South St.  Officers contacted a group of people that were in the parking lot area near the payphone and there was no emergency and no one admitted dialing 911.


1854 hrs Philip Pedro, 30 of Orland reported his son’s Murray bicycle was stolen from his front porch at 1021 East St sometime during the day. Sgt Vlach took the report.


2030 hrs Bridi Woods, 40 reported her 17 y/o son, Ian Hunter had run away from their home at 330 Central St sometime during the night. Sgt Vlach took the report and entered Hunter into State and National data bases as a runaway juvenile.


2054 hrs Officer Cessna responded to the Black Butte Mobile Home Park on the report that an adult male was harassing juveniles. The reporting person, Caryn Brown 56 of Orland who stated that Rafael Salazar in space 38 was harassing female juveniles. Officers contacted Salazar who agreed to stay inside for the remainder of the night. Brown could not identify the subject. No further action was taken.


2253 hrs Officer Cessna and Sgt. Vlach responded to the USA station at 1185 Hoff Way on an anonymous report of a possible domestic disturbance. Officers arrived on scene and contacted several subjects who heard no disturbances. No further action was taken.


June 25

0606 hrs Officer Cessna responded to the area of 11 Yolo St. for an area check for a reported suspicious person. Beverly Strovers of Orland reported seeing Gerald Logan in the area. Logan was not located. No further action was taken.


1151 hrs Officer JOHNSON was contacted by telephone by Carol TATUM of Orland, who reported that her son’s bicycle had been stolen. The bicycle was a gold and white Mongoose boys bicycle with mismatched tires. Anybody with information, please contact OPD.


 1401 hrs Officer Lopeteguy was dispatched to a possible dispute at 241 Fourth Street in Orland. Forty five y/o Orland resident, Victor Scott Ruttman reported that he had an argument with his landlord over the rent. Officer Lopeteguy provided information to Ruttman and then attempted to contact the other half of the dispute. The other half of the dispute, (Mr. Bish unknown first name or age) was not home and did not return Officer Lopeteguy’s call. The problem was handled by separation.


 1848 hrs Officer JOHNSON was contacted by 46 y/o Redding resident, Jerry FORD who wanted to report a possible child abuse that occurred while his child was in the care of his ex, 29 y/o Orland resident, Casey RUSH. After an on scene investigation, the allegations were determined to be unfounded.


 1935 hrs Jeanette Reed, 78, reported a theft of jewelry from her residence at 838 Walker St that occurred between Sunday and Thursday. Sgt Vlach took the report.


 2327 hrs an anonymous caller reported a juvenile party at an unoccupied house at 802 Pecan Cir. Officer Cessna and Sgt Vlach caught and arrested a 15 y/o juvenile female, and a 16 y/o juvenile male running from the residence. The female was cited and released to her father for minor in possession of alcohol, curfew violation and resisting/delaying a peace officer. The male was booked into juvenile hall for possession of cocaine, minor in possession of alcohol, curfew violation and resisting/delaying a peace officer. Two other female juveniles were identified but fled and were able to avoid apprehension. Arrest warrants will be requested.


 2203 hrs Officer Cessna and Sgt. Vlach responded to 403 Third St. for a report of an unknown type of alarm sounding from a nearby residence. Officers contacted 83 y/o Orland resident Laura Guilemette who heard an alarm at 401 Third St. Officers checked the residence and determined that the fire alarm had gone off. The residence was secure and there were no signs of fire. No further action was taken by OPD.


 2312 hrs Officer Cessna and Sgt. Vlach responded to the Shell Gas station at 902 Newville Rd for a report of a possible vandalism in progress. Kacey Ramirez, 25 of Orland reported that several unidentified subjects were urinating and breaking glass near the business. The subjects were gone prior to officers arrival. There was no damage to the building. No further action was taken.
