Orland Police Report: July 11

0124 hrs Sgt Vlach and Officer Cessna were sent to Shasta Gardens apartments for an anonymous male reporting an unknown type of fight/disturbance. The apartments were found quiet with no evidence of a disturbance.

0325 hrs Officer Cessna was sent to 869 Newville Rd at Longs Drugs for a reported auto theft. Officer contacted the reporting person, 27 y/o Jacque Phillips of Magalia who reported that a person she just met by the name of 24 y/o Ray Wallis took her vehicle without permission. Wallis was taken into custody earlier in the day on unrelated charges. Phillips decided not to report the vehicle missing and that she would like the incident documented.

1300 hrs Orland Police Department received an anonymous call regarding an illegal burn in the backyard at 73 E. Chapman. Officers Johnson and Lopeteguy checked the resident and determined there was no smoke coming from the backyard.

 1405 hrs Officer Lopeteguy assisted Butte County Social Worker Daniel Lynch with retrieving property at 14 Shasta Street. Officer Lopeteguy assisted until no longer needed.

1958 hrs Sgt Vlach was sent to the 400 block of Papst Ave for a reported property damage collision. Twenty-one y/o James Clark of Orland was driving his 1995 Dodge pickup at the north end of Papst Ave when he collided with a city sign at the end of the street while making a parking maneuver.

2102 hrs Westside Ambulance responded to the Soda Shoppe. Sgt Vlach and Officer Cessna assisted until no longer needed.

2132 hrs 21 y/o Angie Salinas of Orland reported ongoing harassment from a neighbor in the 403 Papst Ave apartments. Sgt Vlach recommended she speak with the property manager and explained how to apply for a civil harassment order through the court.

1920 hrs Officer Johnson was sent a possibly intoxicated person who had fallen on Yolo St at First St. The officer contacted 49 y/o Thomas Daugherty of Orland who was subsequently arrested for public intoxication.
