Letter: Clarifying house numbers
Thank you for your Nov. 7 article on the Senior Housing Study presented to the Glenn County Board of Supervisors. We would like to make one clarification.
As you indicated, the primary market area for Orland includes Willows, but the Willows PMA does not include Orland.
This means that the higher figures given for housing needs in Orland include the needs documented in Willows. For example, the 74-79 affordable housing units needed in Orland include the 48-51 needed in Willows.
We had an extremely positive experience working collaboratively with the Glenn County Planning Department and Human Resources Agency and were able to accomplish more by combining their CBDG funds with our grant from the United Methodist Beulah Older Adult Endowment.
Special thanks go to Suzi Kochems, John Linhart, and Jeff Lucas among others, as well as Terri Sult and Chi Associates. Our hope is that our joint efforts will result is more housing choices for seniors in Glenn County.
