Boy Scouts request your Christmas trees

Troop 57 will collect your Christmas trees today, Saturday and Jan. 9. There is no charge for the pick-up, but donations can be made to Willows Scouts Troop 57. Call John Shively at 518-0342 for arrangements.

Keep your 2010 Grads Sober

Willows High School will hold a Sober Grad meeting on Monday at 6:30 p.m. in Room 205. All parents of seniors are encouraged to attend. Call Deana Fleming at 934-7930.

Financial Aid workshop available

The Willows High School Counseling Department is hosting a California Cash for College Workshop in the WHS Library from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday. If 25 or more seniors participate, there will be one $1,000 scholarship awarded.

Parents rally for Sober Grad Raffle

Parents from the Orland, Willows, and Hamilton high schools are working with the Corning High School Parents Club - Cards in Action - to sponsor a 2010 Sober Grad Raffle.

The raffle has drawings for trips to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Napa and San Francisco, and for cash prizes of $500, $350 and $200.

Tickets are $20 and the drawing will be held Feb. 6.

Become a ham operator

In conjunction with the Veterans Council of Glenn County, Glenn County Sheriff's Department, American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a general class in ham radio operation will be offered from 7-8:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 7 at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 525 W. Sycamore St., Willows. Deadline to sign up is Tuesday. Contact John Hursey at 329-6713.

Support your high school seniors

The Willows Elk's Lodge will hold its annual Crab Feed, raffle and auction from noon to 6 p.m. on Jan. 10 at the Elk's Lodge, 150 S. Shasta St., Willows. Tickets are available from lodge members or at the Elk's Lodge. Proceeds benefit the Elks Scholarship fund for seniors in Glenn and Colusa counties. For more information, call 934-4321.

City Hall announces holiday schedule

Willows City Hall will be closed through Jan. 3 and will resume normal business hours on Jan. 4. Public safety services will be available. For police and fire emergencies, call 9-1-1. For emergencies relating to streets, sewers or traffic signals, call 934-3323.
