Food drive
Curves of Orland is collecting food through November for the Orland Food Pantry’s Christmas baskets. Curves is open weekdays from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at 720 Fifth St. Canned goods, boxed foods and cereals, and other non-perishable food items such as beans and pasta are needed. Baby items, soaps, shampoos, lotions and toilet paper are also welcomed. For more information, call 865-7322.

Adopt-A-Family
Families, service clubs, nonprofit groups and local businesses are needed as sponsors for the 18th annual Adopt-A-Family program. The
program assists needy Glenn County children and seniors during the holiday season. The Adopt-A-Family event is set for Dec. 12.  Sponsored by the Glenn County Human Resource Agency. For more information, call 934-1591 or e-mail lpermann@hra.co.glenn.ca.us.

Guest speaker
The Willows Monday Afternoon Club meets at 1:30 p.m. Monday at 120 N. Lassen St., Willows. Guest speaker is Bill Brown, a board  member for the Butte Community College District. For more information, call 934-2145.

Church sing
A community sing will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Seventhday Adventist Church, 543 W. First Ave., Willows. Refreshments will be served. WHS fundraiser A pizza/bake sale fundraiser is from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Round Table Pizza, 1237 W. Wood St., Willows. 20 percent of food orders go toward Willows High School’s Sober Grad 2009. Platinum Club
The Platinum Club for Glenn County Seniors will meet from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday in the Glenn Medical Center large conference room. Hospital Administrator Woody Laughnan will speak on the past, present, and future of Glenn Medical Center. A complimentary buffet will be served. For reservations, call 934-1881. The hospital-sponsored program is free for all Glenn County residents 60 years of age and older.

Church bazaar
Willows United Methodist Church will host its annual bazaar and luncheon from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 21 at 544 N. Shasta St. A hot turkey luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The bazaar will feature baked goods, handmade items and gifts. For more  information call 934-7420.

Tri-tip dinner
A drive-through tritip dinner to benefit the Willows High wrestling team will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 22, in the Sani-Food Market
parking lot, in Willows. Tickets are $10. For more information, call 934-7690.

Craft fair
The Christmas Craft Fair, sponsored by the Willows Chamber of  Commerce, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 6 at St. Monica’s Catholic Church parish hall. The Christmas Light Parade, tree-lighting ceremony and visit by Santa Claus will take place at 6 p.m. in downtown Willows.

The Glenn Chorale Holiday
Concert will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the Willows High School cafetorium.

Open house
The Orland Chamber of Commerce holds its open house at 5:30 p.m. today at the chamber office, 401 Walker St. New City Manager Paul Poczobut will be welcomed. For more information, call 865-2311.

Alliance dinner
Family Water Alliance holds its 13th annual fundraiser dinner Nov. 22 at the Maxwell Veterans Hall, 250 Oak St., Maxwell. No-host
cocktails at 5:30 p.m.; dinner served at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person, and attendees will be eligible for door prizes including a 42-
inch flat-screen TV. For more information, call 438-2026 or go to familywateralliance.com.

Craft fair
The 33rd annual Orland Craft Fair is Nov. 29-30 at the Glenn County Fairgrounds, Orland. Hundreds of sellers in three buildings offering
handcrafted gift and specialty food items. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 29; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 30. Free admission. Sponsored by the Orland Historical and Cultural Society. For more information, call 893-9218.

Crab feed
The Willows Elks Lodge will host its annual crab feed, raffle and auction from noon to 6 p.m. Jan. 4. Tickets are available at the lodge
or from Elks members. Proceeds benefit scholarship winners in Glenn and Colusa counties. For more information, call 934-4797.
