0851 hrs Officer Landis was dispatched to a residential alarm in the 300 block of Modoc. Officer Landis and Sgt. Tolle checked the residence and found it secure.
1030 hrs Orland Police Department responded to the area of Co Rd M1/2, Co Rd 13 and Hwy 32 for traffic control and evacuations at a wild land fire. Orland Fire and multiple additional fire agencies responded for fire suppression. The fire covered an area of approximately 300 acres destroying a double wide mobile home displacing one family, one unoccupied abandoned house, two outbuildings and several vehicles. There were no injuries.
2040 hrs Officer Stover responded to 32 Yolo Street regarding a possible scam. Officer Stover contacted Monica Rossman 29 of Orland, who reported that she just purchased some magazines from a door to door salesman. She looked up the Company on the internet and discovered that it was a possible scam. Officer Stover documented the incident.
1950 hrs Sgt. Baker was sent to the North end of Third Street for an assault and battery. Thirty three y/o Craig Albright of South Aubrey,Texas stated he was selling magazines when he was assaulted by three Hispanic males driving a white Ford Expedition. Albright stated the subjects took an unknown amount of cash from him. An investigation was initiated.
