Safety at the Fair

The Glenn County Fair prides itself on presenting a truly safe family event. In this day and age, safety for one’s self and family is a prime concern, and everyone at the Fair is dedicated to providing the best family event possible.

New for this year is the addition of the California Highway Patrol as the lead agency tasked for providing and coordinating the overall security for the Fair. In past years, the Orland Police Department has had that distinction, but because of a shortage of manpower with unfilled positions frozen, they have not been able to provide the depth of service afforded the Fair by the Highway Patrol. Lieutenant Peck of the Willows Highway Patrol office is scheduling his people, and coordinating with the Glenn County Sheriff’s department, the Glenn  County Search and Rescue, the Glenn County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse, the Orland PD’s VIPs, the Private Security company that has the responsibility for gate control and a number of other law enforcement agencies that will be on the grounds to assist as may be needed.

All in all, there will be a lot of friendly police presence to keep the grounds safe and secure. You can bring the family, enjoy the entertainment, eat as much food as you like, view the exceptional array of competitive exhibits, shop the commercial exhibits, ride the rides, experience the livestock and horse exhibits and have a great time. Come once, come again, actually come every day because you can’t see it all in one day. The Glenn County Fair, one of the truly great old time County Fairs.
