Letter: Congratulations to Shelby Hine

Dear Editor

Glenn County Health Services and Glenn County Office of Education would like to congratulate Shelby Hine the winner of the first ever Glenn County Drug Prevention Slogan Contest.

The contest was conducted through a collaborative effort between Glenn County Health Services and Glenn County Office of Education along with the Unity Initiative and Not in Our Town Glenn County.

The contest ran at each Junior High School countywide and the goal was to increase awareness and show the negative impact of drug use to Glenn County youth.

Hine, of Lake School, won the contest with her “TRY METH, MEET DEATH” slogan.  The winning slogan is being reproduced into a 2x4 foot banner to be displayed at each Junior High School in cafeterias, school offices and hallways, etc.  A big thank you to all of those students who participated in the contest.  For more information contact Terri Felix at Glenn County Health Services 934-6588.
