Speech contest nears
The Willows Lions Club Student Speakers Contest topic this year is "How Do We Create and Keep Jobs in America?"
Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to compete.
The contest will take place Jan. 31, 2013 at the Willows City Council Chambers, 201 N. Lassen St.
The winner of the local club contest will advance for further opportunity to win awards and scholarships.

PG&E offers scholarships
PG&E is accepting applications for 2013 college scholarships.
Aspiring and continuing college students may apply for financial assistance through the Employee Resource Group's scholarship funds. At least 100 students will receive $1,000 - $5,000 each for exemplary scholastic achievement and community leadership.
Applications must be uploaded, postmarked or emailed by PG&E by Feb. 1, 2013.
