Letter: Hat tipped to new trustee
I would like to congratulate Gene Massa on his successful election to the Area 7 trustee position of Butte/Glenn Community College. I wish Gene every success in his four-year term and look forward to seeing Butte College continue as one of the top junior colleges in California. I will support Gene in any way that I can as he comes up to speed in his role as a leader in achieving the mission of the College.
I would also like to thank the many people in both Butte and Glenn counties who believed enough in me and my commitment to the college and the community to cast their votes in my favor. I have been blessed with many opportunities over the years to serve the community and my friends and neighbors. In each endeavor the expenditure time, effort and resources provided its own reward through the achieving of the task at hand or the greater mission of the organization. It's been fun.
I seldom refer to Thunderhill Park when performing charitable or other community responsibilities, but I think it is worth mentioning that I am also fortunate to be a part of a business that touches a great many people in a positive way and provides far more value to the area than most would imagine. I'm just lucky.
Thanks again for your support and your vote and the opportunities that I have enjoyed these past twenty-plus years to make a difference in Willows, along with Glenn and Butte County.
