Church brief: May 18 - Willows Christian Chruch holds anniversary
Willows Christian Church will be celebrating its Anniversary Sunday on May 18. This is the congregations 122nd year of existence. It is the 13th year it has been in its new sanctuary. And the 43rd year it has been in its Fellowship Hall and Educational building.
Worship service will begin at 9:30 a.m. The “speakers” for Sunday will be made up of a panel of “o’l timers,” who will share some of their memories when they attended as a child. They are: Tom McMartin, Shirley Pattison, Evelyn West & Velma Spurlock. The choir will sing, “Love Grew Where The Blood Fell.” Amy Street and Kelly Lawler will sing a duet titled, “Remember Me.”
Sunday School will follow at 11 a.m. Classes are provided for all ages, including adults. At 12:15 a KFC & salad lunch will be served.
According to Pastor Keith Corum, who has ministered in the church for 31 years, anyone who has ever been a member or participated in the Christian Church in Willows is invited to attend the celebration. For more information, please call the church office at 934-3490.
