Birthday: Carolyn Putman Hooper
Retired teacher Carolyn Putman Hooper is turning 90. Carolyn was born on Aug. 15, 1919 in Colusa. She graduated from Chico State University and taught bookkeeping and shorthand at Willows High School from 1969 to 1985. She is an avid bridge player and loves to garden. She is an active member of American Association of University Women.
Carolyn, who now lives in Sparks, Nev., raised three children, Clyda Anderson of Sparks, Nev., Kirk Hooper of Antelope and Ross Hooper of Soda Springs. She has four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
An open house to honor Carolyn on the occasion of her 90th birthday will be held at the home of her son, Kirk, 3629 Kodiak Way in Antelope, from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 15. Details: 916-335-2451.
