K. Byron Ljung
K. Byron Ljung, 86 passed away on April 27, 2008 in Chico. Byron was a resident of Orland. He was born on September 10, 1921 to Emery and Clara Ljung in Carlos Township, Minnesota. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Byron, a Minnesota farm kid that survived the Depression and WWII, always marveled at what a lucky guy he was. He was happily married for 50 years to Rose Marie Reed Ljung and for 43 years enjoyed his many positions at Union Oil Company of California. If you’d had the good fortune to meet Byron, you’d carry with you a gift of acceptance and encouragement and glimpse of a unique perspective on life. His cup wasn’t half full, it was brimming over.
Byron is survived by his son, John Ljung and wife Mary, of San Luis Obispo; daughters, Rosemary Keating and husband Kim, of Bozeman, MT and Jan Stokes and husband Mike, of Orland; grandchildren, Erik Vincent, Kirk Vincent, Elin Ljung, Heather Ljung and Tyler Keating.
Services were held May 3 at the Orland Federated Church at First and Colusa Streets. Memorial contributions can be made to your favorite Charity. Arrangements are under the direction of F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary, Orland, CA.
