Volunteers needed for Fourth of July band
Orland Town Band rehearsal for old-fashioned Fourth of July celebration is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Orland High School band room, 101 Shasta St. Instruments available. Details: 865-2731.

Orland chamber sets meeting for Aug. 5
Today’s general meeting of the Orland Chamber of Commerce has been cancelled. The next meeting is set for Aug. 5 at the Berry Patch. Details: 865-2311.

Shelby mini nationals return to Thunderhill
The 26th annual Nor Cal Shelby Mini Nationals return Friday through Sunday at Thunderhill Raceway Park, 5250 Highway 162, Willows. Car show from 2:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at Sycamore Park. Willows Fire Department volunteers will serve a barbecue dinner; tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children. Admission for spectators at Thunderhill is free. Details: 934-5588

Tennis tourney planned in Orland
Orland Independence Day tennis tournament is Saturday and Sunday at Vinsonhaler Park. Details: 865-2942.

Children’s center will offer sports physicals
Physicals for school sports will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 14 and July 21 at the Glenn Medical Center Children’s Center, 1144 W. Sycamore St., Willows. Cost is $10, with proceeds split between the Glenn Medical Foundation and the student’s school or club. Details: 934-4005.
 
Orland historical group offers camp
The Orland Historical and Cultural Society offers History Camp XV from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday at Alta Schmidt House Museum, corner of Yolo and Fourth streets, Orland. Must have completed third grade. Cost is $15. Details: 865-9555.
