    Orland Police Logs: April 2-5

    April 2

    2229 - Sgt. Baker issued a parking citation on a white Chevrolet pick up parked illegally in, and blocking the alley north of Suisun Street between Fourth and Fifth Streets.

    April 3

    1036 - Carrie Cox, 22 of Cottonwood telephoned the Orland Police Department regarding annoying Phone calls. Cox reported that Freddy Bish 34 of Cottonwood was calling her and questioning her about a stolen phone. At approximately 1115 hours Officer Lopeteguy telephoned Cox however she did not answer. Cox will be contacted at a later time and she will be advised that she lives in Tehama County and she should contact the Tehama County Sheriff’s Department regarding the violation of the law.

    1357 - Sgt Tolle and Officer Lopeteguy were dispatched to 226 E Tehama to assist Westside Ambulance regarding a misuse of 911. Upon arrival Officer Lopeteguy spoke with Philip Ottinger, 34 of Orland. Ottinger advised that his father is complaining that he is having trouble breathing. Ottinger’s father Wesley was checked by Westside Ambulance. His vitals were reportedly, “Fine”. This is the third day in a row that the Ottinger’s have called 911. The misuse of 911 is a result of Wesley being extremely intoxicated. Wesley reportedly drank one gallon of whiskey. his blood alcohol level was .178 BAC. The Ottinger’s were counseled about alcohol and misuse of 911.

    1750 - Officer Lopeteguy was dispatched to a report of a juvenile crying for his mother on the corner of 6th and Jacquelyn Dr. Upon arrival Officer Lopeteguy found 6 year old Jonathon Cote of Orland crying for his mother and left unattended. Officer Lopeteguy located Jonathon’s father, Scott Cote 41 of Orland. Jonathon was turned over to his family and counseled. A reminder to parents make sure your child knows their phone number and address in case they become lost or separated from family members.

    April 4

    0933 - Officer Stover was dispatched to SAV-MOR Market; 32 E Walker Street for a shoplifter. Loss Prevention employee Gary Reese had detained 20 y/o Cheyenne Ball of Orland. Ball was placed under citizens arrest, cited and released.

    1027 - 44 y/o Sondra Galvan of Andys Butcher Block called to report an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was confirmed as a vehicle stolen in the Willows area. The registered owner was contacted and Officers Lopeteguy and Stover completed the locate and vehicle was stored by Zips Towing.

    1301 - Officers Stover and Lopeteguy were dispatched to a 911 hang-up at 319 Shasta Street. The officers contacted a 9 y/o male juvenile who was home sick playing with the phone. The juvenile was counseled.

    1850 - Officer Lopeteguy was dispatched to an alarm at the Orland Branch of the Bank of America. Officer Lopeteguy found the business was secure.

    2305 - Willie Coleman 66 reported 5 of his juvenile grandchildren went missing from his residence, 412 2nd St this evening. As Sgt Vlach was making the data entry in the state system the girls returned home.

    2138 - Officer Cessna responded to Mill Street School on an anonymous report of an alarm. Officer Cessna located a pulled fire alarm on the Northeast corner of the school. An Orland Unified School District employee turned off the alarm.

    2204 - Officer Cessna, Sgt. Vlach and GCSO Deputy Brazzi responded to an alarm at the Haywagon at 834 Sixth St. The officers found the building to be secured.

    2226 - Officer Cessna responded to an anonymous report of a loutd party at 73 E. Walker St. #19. Officer Cessna contacted several subjects at the apartment. They agreed to keep the noise down and go inside for the night.

    2319 - . Officer Cessna responded to the area of Huggins Dr. and Co Rd G to assist GCSO Deputies Brazzi and McDonald with a report of shots heard in the area. Officers located two vehicles on Huggins Dr. that were vandalized. Officer Cessna remained on scene until no further assistance was needed.

    April 5

    0005 - Officer Cessna observed an unknown subject fleeing northbound from the restrooms at Lely Aquatic Park. Officer Cessna, Sgt. Vlach, GCSO Deputies Brazzi and McDonald attempted to locate the subject. The subject was not located. An investigation showed that the bathrooms had been vandalized. A report was initiated.

    0058 - Sgt Vlach made a traffic stop on a 2005 Dodge Ram at East St and E Colusa St. Twenty nine y/o Corning resident Armando Cortes was cited and released for an equipment violation and driving on a suspended license.

    0131 - Officer Cessna made a traffic stop on a green Plymouth for driving without headlights during darkness. Following an investigation the driver, 36 y/o Orland resident Ruben Navarro-Garcia was arrested for DUI and booked into the Glenn County Jail.

    0132 - Sgt. Vlach made a traffic stop on a Nissan Pathfinder on E Colusa St at Woodward Ave for several moving violations. The driver, 39 y/o Chico resident Noe Arevalo was arrested and booked for DUI over .08% BAC. The 24 y/o passenger, Josue David Arevalo was arrested and booked for public intoxication. Twenty four y/o Chico resident Jose Daniel Arevalo was detained when he approached the passenger and took possession of the occupant’s wallets, then subsequently arrested and booked for public intoxication. The vehicle was stored with Zip’s Towing.

    0743 - Officers responded to 4798 Hwy 99W to conduct parole and probation compliance checks. After on scene investigations three subjects were taken into custody. Shannon Jackson 30 of Orland was arrested for possession of hypodermic syringes, Michael Skidmore 49 of Orland was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and a parole hold. Marcy Duckworth 39 of Orland was arrested on an outstanding warrant. All three subjects were transported to the Glenn County Jail.

    0843 - OPD Officers served a Chico PD Warrant at 603 Date St. Forty four y/o Orland resident Ricky Comer was arrested and booked on a warrant alleging Domestic Violence and VOP.

    Nyle Cooper 53 of Orland was arrested on an out of county warrant at 412 Fifth Street. He was booked into the County Jail.

    0924 - 25 y/o Billy Gilpin of Orland was arrested at 916 Fourth St. on an out of county warrant. He was booked into the Glenn County Jail.

    0915 - Officers responded to 7372 Lindsay Ave. to conduct a probation compliance check. After an on scene investigation Tommy Taylor 34 of Capay was arrested for violation of Probation. He was transported and booked into the Glenn County Jail.

    0849 - Officers conducted a probation compliance check at 407 Papst Ave #B. A report was taken.

    0903 - Officers conducted a parole compliance check at 804 3rd St. A report was taken.

    0823 - Robert Elam, 42 of Orland was arrested following a probation compliance check at 4582 Hwy 99w Orland. He was booked into the County Jail.

    0946 - Officers contacted 36 y/o Orland resident Jimmy Ennis at 4067 Co Rd M. After a parole compliance check, Ennis was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and a parole violation.

    1016 - Officers responded to 7440 Lindsay Ave. to contact Fredrick Alves 42 of Capay. Alves was arrested on an outstanding warrant. He was transported and booked into the Glenn County Jail.

    1036 - Officers contacted 28 y/o Eric LEON at 817 Newport Ave # 19 for a parole compliance check. LEON was subsequently arrested on numerous drug charges and on a parole violation.

    1057 - Sgt Baker and team 2 along with support personnel from the Glenn County Probation Department, Willows PD, and the Glenn County Sheriff’s Department served an arrest warrant at 725 Sacramento Street #2. Fifty one y/o Petra Cuin Lopez of Orland was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant for petty theft.

    1156 - Officers contacted 42 y/o Susan Fehilly at 817 Newport Ave # 5 for a probation compliance check. After an on scene investigation, Fehilly was arrested for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation.

    1217 - Officer Landis and Sgt. Tolle contacted 35 y/o Jose Camarena of Orland and served a warrant out of Butte County. Camarena was booked into the Glenn County Jail.

    1214 - Sgt Baker and team 2 contacted Roger Powers 52 y/o of Orland in the Shady Oaks Trailer Park. Officer Edwards arrested Powers for violation of a court order.

    1300 - Officer Landis and Sgt. Tolle served an arrest warrant on 54 y/o Alejandro Lopez of Orland at 407 Fifth St. Lopez was booked into the Glenn County Jail.

    1252 - Sgt Baker and team 2 along with Probation Officer Craig Edwards, Willows P.D. Officer Vessels and Deputy McDonald conducted a probation compliance check at 424 Tehama Street. Forty 40 y/o Veronica Madrid of Orland was arrested on probation violations.
